Clownboy Radio

Twenty-four years late. Sorry about that.

Everything here streams from the Internet Archive's Grateful Dead collection — over seventeen thousand concert recordings, free, because the band let the tapers stay. Nothing is stored on this site. I'm just pointing at it.

Pick a night

One tape a night, the best one the Archive has. Type a date the way you'd say it — 5/8/77 — or a hall, or a town, or a song: every night it was played, best-rated first. Press Jerry to search his own bands instead: the JGB, Merl, Legion of Mary and the rest.

On the shelf

• May 8, 1977 — Barton Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca NY load
The one everybody argues about, and still the one. at the Archive
• June 9, 1976 — Music Hall, Boston MA load
An audience tape. You can hear the room. at the Archive
• Jerry, off the leash — Garcia Band & friends, 70 tracks load all his nights
Where he wandered when it was his band. The 70 tracks have company now: every Jerry night the Archive holds is one button over. Compiled by Chris Davis, 2005; remastered by the same stubborn man, 2025. at the Archive
